How do you book an appointment?

What is your cancellation policy?
We require 12 hours cancellation or rescheduling notice before your scheduled appointment. In order to hold your appointment on the day of booking we do require a credit card number. Your credit card number is 100% confidential and nothing will be charged to your card unless you miss your appointment or you cancel within less than 12 hours. In this case, we will charge you 50% of the cost of your scheduled service in order to compensate for the service providers time.
Why do your haircuts range in price?
Our haircut prices range from $35 to $80. Our prices are based on the stylist's salon and industry experience, as well as any additional training or credentials. To find out more about our haircut prices please click on the link below. Is a blowdry included in the cost of a haircut?
Yes, as well as a scalp massage. If you would like to just have a shampoo, scalp massage, blowdry and style the cost is $35.
What are the costs for Updo's and what should I do to prepare for the service?
Updo's start at $60 and can increase depending on the complexity of the style desired and the amount of time it will take. Before coming in for your updo service we do ask that you do not wash your hair the day of. Hair should be washed the night before and dry, the natural oils help keep your updo intact for a longer period of time. We also suggest that you wear a button up shirt, or a zip up shirt that is easy to take off so that when you go to change you do not ruin your hair in the process.
What makes Zazou different?
Zazou Salon & Spa believes in sustainability and environmental awareness. We use natural products that are less damaging to the environment and we align ourselves with distributors who also believe in sustainability. Zazou participates in many fundraisers and sponsors numerous community events. Zazou provides services in an intimate, comfortable environment and we guarantee all our products and services 100%. To enhance your service we also offer complimentary make up touch ups, men's mini facials with hair services, free beverages and snacks- including red and white wine and scotch.
What kind of products do we use?
For colour services we use either Wella or Aveda colours. Aveda haircolour is 97-99% naturally derived. We carry Aveda hair and skin care products . We also use Davines, a line from Italy that is all natural and packaged in environmentally friendly, reusable containers. Our skincare products are Comfort Zone, also from Italy. Our make up is Jane Iredale Mineral Skincare Cosmetics- everything from mascara and eye liner to lip gloss. We also retail OPI for nails and Sugarlime Jewelry, designed and developed by a local designer.
Do we charge children's prices?
Our prices for children are the same as the cost for adults. This is because we take the same time and care with children as we do with adults. Children are offered free drinks and snacks and experience the same service as our adult guests.
Do we allow children in the spa?
For the benefit and relaxation of other guests, and for safety reasons, we do ask that children are not brought into the spa.
What should I wear for spa treatments?
We provide robes for you to wear before and after your service as well as facial gowns for facial services. We have lockers with a lock and a key to put your belongings in during your service. For waxing you do not need to worry about what you are wearing as you will not be changing completely; wear whatever you feel comfortable in.
Is colour safe for pregnancy?
Colour will be fine if you are pregnant, however, if you feel uncomfortable with it we do suggest that you have highlights done instead of a solid colour. This is because a solid colour is applied direclty to your scalp, highlights are foiled into the hair away from the scalp. We do use Aveda colour which is 97-99% naturally derived, as well as non-amonia based demi permanent colours.
Can we accomodate for a massage if you're pregnant?
Yes we can. We do ask that you let the receptionist know when booking that you are pregnant so we would be able to let the service provider know in advance in order to prepare for your service. We do not have massage beds that are specifically made for pregnancy. We are able to massage you on your side if you are far advanced with your pregnancy or arrange pillows on the bed to aid in your comfort during the massage.
Should we arrive early for appointments?
We do ask that you arrive 15 minutes early for all spa appointments in order to fill out any necessary forms and to enjoy a beverage or snack before your service. This also helps to ensure that you receive all the time you have scheduled for your service. Should you arrive late for your service, we may not be able to complete your full service. For hair services we ask that you arrive right at your appointed time.
Should I remove polish or makeup before an esthetic appointment?
You do not have to remove polish before having a manicure or pedicure. If you are receiving a makeup application please come with a freshly cleansed skin For lash tints we ask that you remove your mascara before your service.
Do we do hair extensions?
Yes, we do Great Lengths bonding hair extensions and Free Fall hair extensions. We use the best quality hair for the extensions. Before booking, you must come in for an extension consultation with either Kim or Elaina to establish what you would like to have done, how long it will take, and cost. We do extension removals as well. For further details, please go to our extensions page under "salon" on Zazou's homepage.
Where do I park?
We have free underground parking that is on Mountain Highway and Ross Road. It is right across the street from the Starbucks Coffee. There are four levels of parking.
Do you guarantee your products and services?
Yes, we guarantee our products and services 100%. If you are unsatisfied with your salon or spa service we guarantee a complimentary redo if you call within 7 days of your initial service. We then book you in for a redo with your stylist or esthetician. We cannot guarantee colour services from fading if you do not use professional hair products due to the fact that non-professional hair products have the potential to strip your hair colour. This is why our stylist will always recommend a professional salon hair product because it will help preserve your colour. For hair products, we do guarantee satisfaction. You may return them within 2 weeks or original purchase and the bottle must be half full or more. If you return your products after 2 weeks we can put the amount of the product on your account for use for future Zazou products or services. Electonics (hair straighteners and blowdryers) are guaranteed at Zazou within a month of purchase. After one month the warranty goes to the manufacturer for the first year of use.
Do you do make up applications?
We offer make up applications with our Jane Iredale mineral make up for $55 or a make up lesson for $65. We also offer the Jane Iredale 30-30-30 deal. This includes a thirty minute make up consultation with one of our make up artists for $30, however, if you choose to purchase any Jane Iredale Products the day of the consultation, the $30 will be applied to the cost of the product, giving you the consultation for free. We also offer a free light touch of minerals at the end of every service that includes blush and lip gloss. |
